“What can be learned on the ground cannot be learned in the classroom”

At Indu English School, we lay a strong emphasis on sports and physical development. Our sports curriculum is planned and designed for students to develop and enhance skills like strength, speed, endurance, agility, flexibility, control, balance etc. Sports today has also evolved as a form of entertainment and also offers promising careers.

We believe in mass participation, exposing our students to a number of sports events at inter-school, state, national and international level. Every student is encouraged to join at least one school sports team. The Sports  teachers we employ are Experienced and energetic with a good amount of expertise in sports and provide coaching for sports like

Mallakhamba, Archery,  football, basketball, throwball etc.

We have weekly achievable goals for the different skills required for a particular sport and train students accordingly. Intersection matches are conducted every four months.

For students to know the benefits of the sports they play, they are informed about the body parts and muscle development in playing each sport along with game knowledge.

Archery

Archery is very proud to be part of the School Games programme and is committed to providing more competitive opportunities for young people. The sport has worked with the Youth Sport Trust to develop competition formats for intra and inter school competition at primary and secondary levels. We believe that by supporting schools and their networks to deliver the School Games more young people will be introduced to archery and enjoy further opportunities through clubs.

YOGA

Yoga is for every… body! It’s often assumed that one must already be flexible and physically fit to participate in yoga. One of the many great aspects of yoga is that it can be modified to support any age, goal and ability level. Its inclusive nature and ability to be practiced almost anywhere and with very little equipment makes it a great fit for classrooms, play spaces, recess, before and after school programs, and even at home.

But, what exactly is yoga? Yoga is an activity that includes breathing techniques, yoga poses and mindfulness. Mindfulness is the practice of focusing your attention on the present moment. In yoga, participants often use breathing and yoga poses to help the mind calm. Yoga has the ability to help kids and adults be more active, flexible and mindful for an increase on overall well-being!
